Rule settings

You can find all safety rules already configured with this plugin in the tab General Settings of the plugin dashboard. Before configuring new safety rules that are specific to your shop, please check that all values for risk thresholds suit your needs.

Settings for risk thresholds

Here you can set the thresholds of fraud risk to consider an order as medium or high risk.

• Medium Risk threshold: from this percentage to the high-risk percentage, the order is considered as a medium risk;
• High Risk threshold: from this percentage on, the order is considered as high risk.

Example

Medium risk threshold: 25
High risk threshold: 75

With the above settings, an incoming order with a risk of 24% is considered as low risk. An incoming order of 74% is considered medium risk and an order of 75% is considered as high risk.

If you want to mark an order as potentially unsafe if it is the first order placed by a user in the shop, you must enable the option Enable first order check available in General settings > Rule settings.

If you want to mark an order as potentially unsafe if the billing address does not match with the country set for the shop you must enable the option Enable international order check available in General settings > Rule settings.

If you want to mark an order as unsafe if the IP from which the order request is made does not belong to the country of the shop, you must enable the option Enable IP geolocation check available in General settings > Rule settings.

If you want to mark an order as potentially unsafe if shipping and billing addresses differ from each other, you must enable the option Enable Billing and Shipping addresses check available in General settings > Rule settings.

If you want to mark an order as potentially unsafe if the IP from which the order comes has used a proxy server, you must enable the option Enable proxy check available in General settings > Rule settings and enter the Proxycheck.io API Key in the related field.

To check users’ email addresses and verify if they belong to one of the specified unsafe domains, enable the option Enable suspicious email domain check available in General settings > Rule settings.

Any of the default unsafe domains can be manually removed, but you can also add any new ones whenever you want.

By enabling the option Enable unsafe country check, you can specify the countries to be considered unsafe in the field Define unsafe countries. The check will be done on the country inserted by the user in the invoice data and, if it is one of those you have previously defined, the related percentage of fraud risk will be added to the order.

If you want to monitor the total amount of the orders exceeding the average order amount spent in your shop, enable the option Enable order amount check and specify a value in the Average multiplier field. For example, by setting the value to 2, when the order is twice higher than the average spend in your shop, the order risk increases.
