General settings

All safety rules are already configured with this plugin can be found in the tab “General Settings” in the Settings panel. Before configuring new safety rules that are specific to your shop, please check that all values for risk thresholds suit your needs.

Settings for risk thresholds

The threshold of fraud risk of when an order should be considered at medium or high risk.

  • Medium Risk threshold: From this percentage to the high risk percentage, the order is considered medium risk.
  • High Risk threshold: From this percentage on the order is considered high risk.

Example

Medium risk threshold 25
High risk threshold 75

If an incoming order has a risk of 24%, its considered low risk. An incoming order of 74% is considered medium risk and an order of 75% is considered high risk.

First order check

Enable first order check: by enabling this option, the order is marked as potentially unsafe, if it is the first order by a user in the shop.

Enable international order check: by enabling this option, the order is marked as potentially unsafe if billing address does not belong to the country set for the shop.

IP geolocation check

Enable IP geolocation check: by enabling this option, the order is marked as unsafe is the IP from which the order request is made does not belong to the country of the shop.

Address check

Enable Billing and Shipping addresses check: shipping and billing addresses are checked; in case these ones are different from each other, the order will be marked as potentially unsafe.

Proxy check

Enable proxy check: this option allows you to check if the IP from which the order comes has used a proxy server.

Suspicious email check

Enable suspicious email domain check: this safety rule allows you to check users’ email addresses and verify if they belong to one the specified unsafe domains.

Any of the default unsafe domains can be manually removed, but you can also add any new one whenever you want.

Unsafe country check

Enable unsafe country check: The control will be done on the nation specified by user in invoice data. In case it is one of those you have inserted, the related percentage of fraud risk will be added to the order.

Average order amount check

Enable order amount check: this option allows you to monitor the total amount of the order. In case this is x times bigger than the average order spend in your shop, the order danger risk increases.

Specified order amount check

The admin can decide if the single order amount is over a certain limit, to mark this behavior as a potential fraud check.

For example: you have a shop with very cheap products and the maximum order amount that a “normal customer” usually places is about $20,-.

Based on that, you decide to set the threshold to $35,- (Amount limit).

If  a customer enters and places an order of $50,- it will be marked as suspicious.
