In addition to the classic WooCommerce template, YITH WooCommerce Review Reminder offers 3 further different graphics, about which you can see a preview during the choice.

How to choose email template for review reminders

Thanks to the integration with the premium version of YITH WooCommerce Email Templates, you can select one of the templates configured with the above-mentioned plugin. In case it is active, you only need to enable the option Use YITH WooCommerce Email Templates and select, in YITH WooCommerce Email Templates settings, the template to combine to emails generated with YITH WooCommerce Review Reminder.

Mail content

Object and content of emails can be customized from the dashboard. Depending on the type of message, it may contain HTML tags and placeholders. During the creation of the message, you can add the following parameters to get dynamically the corresponding information:

  • {customer_name}: the customer’s name
  • {customer_email}: the customer’s email
  • {site_title}: the title of the site
  • {order_id} : the order ID
  • {order_date}: the date and the time of the order
  • {order_date_completed}: the date on which the order is completed
  • {order_list}: the list of the purchased products that still have to be reviewed. This parameter must be added inside the email text in order to keep its meaning and functionality.
  • {days_ago}: the number of days passed between the purchase and the dispatching of the email.
  • {unsubscribe_link}: the link to let customers unsubscribe from receiving emails.

“Set destination” option dashboard allows choosing the page to redirect users after clicking the link for each product included in the email.

You can choose from the following options:

  • product page
  • tab “Reviews” of the product page
  • customized anchor in the product page

Login from email link

By enabling the option Login from email link, the link included in the email will redirect registered users to the login page in order for them to review the product.

Google Analytics

Through plugin options concerning Google Analytics, the plugin allows you to track emails generated and sent to users to invite them to review the products in your shop.
Before inserting the requested parameters to create your “campaign”, ensure to specify the monitoring code of Google Analytics in your site. Only in this case, the inserted parameters will be effective.

Mandrill settings

If you want to manage email sending with Mandrill, enable the option Enable Mandrill and enter the API Key you find in your account.

To use Mandrill it’s required to have a MailChimp account.

Actions on order

Despite the email sending system is automated, by accessing the Orders page you can intervene manually, performing one of the following actions using the dedicated buttons you find on the right of the page:

  • sending emails to customer
  • schedule email sending
  • delete the email in order for it to be removed from the next planned scheduling.

Send a new reminder

If you want to send a new reminder email to the customer, just click on Send a new reminder and a popup will open. Here, you will be able to send the email right away or schedule the sending for a new date.

If you need to schedule email sending for those orders for which no email was sent or those placed before starting to use the plugin, or in case you want to force the sending before the order is set to Completed, you can take advantage of the Schedule reminder feature. By clicking on button, a popup will open and you will be able to send the email right away or schedule the sending for a specific date.

If for any reason, you want to cancel a scheduled email sending, you can easily do it by clicking on Delete and confirm the action from the popup.

These actions may also be performed massively, directly from the summary page. Select orders and choose the action you wish to perform from the drop-down menu of “bulk actions” “bulk actions” in WordPress.

How to deny review reminder email sending

By default, the emails are sent to all the users who purchased on your shop.
However, you can decide to send them only to those users who gave their consent during the checkout process.

You need to enable the option “Don’t email me checkbox” from the Request settings tab.

A checkbox will be added to the “Checkout” page.

By refusing the consent, the users’ email addresses will be automatically inserted into the blocklist. In this way, the users won’t receive any email to encourage them to review the products they purchased.

Days to elapse

By default, emails are sent after 7 days from the change of order status into “Completed”. However, you can change the number of requested days in “Days to elapse” field in the “Request Settings” section of the plugin dashboard.

Changing this WILL NOT re-schedule emails currently scheduled. If you would like to reschedule them to this new date, make sure you enable the ‘Reschedule emails’ options.

Request a review for

Through the emails, you can ask your customers to review one or more of the products included in the order.

Select All products if you want to ask them to review all the products included in the order or Specific products. In the latter case, you will be asked to set the number of products to be included in the email among those available in the order. You can then choose the products from several solutions:

  • First products(s) bought: the first products added;
  • Last products(s) bought: the last products added;
  • Products with highest number of items bought: the products with the highest quantity in the order;
  • Products with lowest number of items bought: the products with the lowest quantity in the order;
  • Products with highest number of reviews: the most reviewed products;
  • Products with lowest number of reviews: the least reviewed products;
  • Products with highest price: the most expensive products;
  • Products with lowest price: the cheapest products;
  • Products with highest total value: the most expensive group of products in the order;
  • Products with lowest total value: the cheapest group of products in the order;
  • Random: a random selection.

Reschedule emails

By rescheduling emails, you can reorganize email sending after changing the requested number of days from the date of the completed order.

Based on the setting, rescheduling of emails can be applied only to those that haven’t been sent yet or (if you enable the second checkbox) also to those already sent to the user.

On each order detail page, you can verify email status, schedule its sending, force the sending manually or delete it.
